My new job has turned me into a communter. It takes me about 15 or 20 minutes to get to work and to go home everyday. I know that's not that bad, but it's new to me with my new job. It used to take me about 7 minutes to get to and from work.
Yesterday it took me a little bit longer to get home because of this truck. Everyone was slowing down to do a little rubbernecking. Usually that really bothers me because the car that people are slowing down to get a good look at is usually just out of gas or something. This truck was different though. It was definitely worth slowing down for!
You can kind of see the charred back of the truck in this photo I took (going 60 mph down the interstate from my phone.) When I got closer, I could see that the whole truck bed from the back window to the tailgate must have been on fire just a few minutes before. There were three guys standing by the truck as if nothing had happened too. Can you imagine what that must have looked like just a few minutes ago? The whole truck was on fire! I wonder how they got the fire out too. There weren't any emergency vehicles around them, but it looked like there was a small puddle of water around the truck.
Maybe this happens all the time with their truck and they keep a hose in it just in case. I don't know. I do know that was one good rubberneckin' moment. Too bad I wasn't there just a few minutes before.
