VHS, 30, dies of loneliness

The home-entertainment format lived a fruitful life
By DIANE GARRETT

We shall miss VHS for its profound ability to make us rack up service fees at the video store (for not being kind, and rewinding,) for the wavy lines that sometimes appeared on the screen after a movie had been watched too many times, and for the fun tape inside that always got tangled into a mess.

Oh, wait... we won't miss it at all!!! So long, VHS! You were good while you lasted!
